Data Protection
The Data Protection Act puts obligations on users of personal information and lays down principles for its use. One principle states that information has to be processed fairly and lawfully; this means that you are entitled to know how we intend to use any information you provide, or that we may obtain from other sources e.g. Credit reference agencies or your employer. You can then decide whether you want us to have that information.
To provide the highest level of customer service we need accurate customer information.
The information that you provide on this website will be used by Niche Client Services Ltd for the purposes of assessing your application and to be retained on our system.
We may arrange to search your credit record and, if applicable your joint applicant’s at one or more licensed credit reference agencies. They will add details of our search to your credit record and if joint, an association will therefore be created at the credit reference agencies, which will link your financial records and these will be taken into account in all future applications by either or both of you.
Additionally records relating to any partner may already be financially linked to you and if so, will be assessed as part of your application.
Some lenders may use a credit scoring system.
We will also check your details with Fraud Prevention Agencies and if you give us false information and we suspect fraud, we will record this with them. The records of Credit Reference Agencies and Fraud Prevention Agencies may be seen by other organisations which make searches in the future.
These records may be used by them and us to prevent fraud and money laundering.
